Hey there, I’m Jess aka
THE BARREL GIRL
I don’t do normal.
While everyone else was stacking college acceptance letters, I was collecting life experience. No college straight out of high school. No five-year plan. No clue what I wanted to be when I grew up. Instead? I tried a LOT of things. Retail. Weddings. Criminal & Family Law. Recruitment. Personality Assessments. And finally? Barrels. Yes, the wooden kind that hold whiskey and wine. It’s been a journey to say the least.
Let's be real: I didn't inherit a trust fund or a network of CEOs. My dad taught me blue collar work ethic. He drove tractors at a feedlot for most of his career. When my parents divorced in third grade, our kitchen table became my Mom's nursing school headquarters. I saw the discipline of balancing a career + school + full time soccer mom. She became a first generation college graduate and modeled that you really can do it all.
BUT…We weren't just broke. We were free-lunch, food-stamp kind of poor. I grew up in garage sale hand-me-downs. I saw generosity modeled to our family time and time again. There really are so many kind people in our world.
For nearly a decade and a half, I’ve had the privilege of doing life alongside my person, my best friend. We've weathered secondary infertility, launched a business, and packed up our entire company to move across the country. I’ve battled autoimmune thyroid disease since my early 20s and live a gluten free lifestyle. I’m passionate about health and wellness. My “Mom Life” consists of new-to-me activities including one golf obsessed son and one destined to land in Music City one day as a country rock star.
